3-4 Physical Education 


 Units Covered: 

  • Building a foundation and team building
  • Fitness education, fitness testing, goal setting
  • Throwing and catching (football)
  • Kicking and trapping (soccer)
  • Net Games, striking, volleyball
  • Tumbling and Body awareness
  • Rhythm and Dance
  • Striking with a long handed implement (hockey)
  • Basketball
  • Jump rope and being active at home
  • Track and Field
  • Recreation games
  • Softball

 All 3rd and 4th grade students will be tested 3  times a year (fall, winter, spring) using the fitnessgram testing standards.
Testing includes:
  1. Aerobic Capacity (mile run and pacer test)
  2. Flexibility (trunk lift test)
  3. Upper body strength (push-up test)
  4. Core Strength (curl up test)
At the end of the year students will recieve a printout that shows if they meet the healthy fitness zones.
